Its October and the weather has turned to rain and wind. Looking forward to Halloween and the trick or treat season.
got asked the other day about tooth sensitivity and a few people have been coming in with sensitive teeth and wondering what can be done about it
here is a small list with a few solutions
1, Dentinal hypersensitivity – this is sensitivity of the roots of the teeth if the gums have receded and the roots of the teeth are exposed then this can cause sensitivity of these teeth one solution to this is to have same kind of barrier attached to the surface either by a dentist or to use desensitising tooth paste to build up a barrier sensodyne and Colgate are one of the ones that can be use
2, sensitivity due to fractured teeth – if you have trauma in the mouth this can result in sensitive teeth as a result of exposed dentine would be a good idea to have a comprehensive assessment to asses the teeth and if there are any fractured and also to get them repaired
3, Decay in the teeth – if you have decayed teeth this again can expose the dentine and the teeth can become sensitive if this is the case then some fillings may be required a comprehensive examination will show this up
