An extraction (having a tooth removed) can be quite a nerve racking experience for whatever reason it may be for either before an dental implant or before any orthodontic treatment Braces. Now the experience is much less of an ordeal with modern day local anaesthetics there should be no pain during the procedure and the procedure is a quick and pain less process. However there are some instructions that need to be followed afterwards to make sure there are no complications
1, Make sure not to eat on the socket straight away as this can cause the blood clot to be dislodged and cause further bleeding and delay the healing process
2, NO smoking or alcohol for the first 24 hours
3, Soft food diet notheing too hard or too hot
4, If socket bleeds then bite on a cloth fro about 10 mins and if no improvement then get back in touch with dentist
5, Take some pain killers as it can be sore afterwards
6, Do some hot salty mouth rinses after a few hours – table spoon of salt in a cup of warm water adn rinse every few hours
If for some reason the socket does get infected, then go back and see your dentist they will be able to help
