well its certainly been a busy few days. I guess everyone is getting back into the routine of things with children back at school and doing the morning run. Everyone at Lifestyle Dental has been busy working hard and we have all the updates on the team in the recent newsletter which will be dropping through your letter box soon and via email and also will be available online.
Recently also been getting quite a few questions about tooth wear and why are my teeth wearing away so i guess this is a good time to cover this area here as well.
Tooth wear can be due to a number of different reasons although it can be  grouped into four areas
1, Tooth wear due to bruxism or grinding this can be due to a habit at night or during the day the exact reason for grinding is not known in most cases although it can be a stress relieving habit. If you think you grind your teeth you may find your muscles are sore or you have a sore jaw in the mornings due to the excessive pressure.
2, Tooth wear due to erosion this can be due to a very acidic diet so if your having alot of food which is acidic in nature then this can cause the teeth to wear down. Some of the main foods which cause this can be fizzy drinks and citric drinks like orange juice. If you think this may be happening then a good idea to look at your diet if you need help with this then we can help you with a diet sheet to record everything
3,Excessive brushing can result in wear of the teeth also there are a few toothpastes which can be abrasive in nature be careful to use only light pressure which brushing
4, Tooth wear can also be to internal acids if you have an eating disorder or if you have gastric reflux then this can result in an acidic environment in your mouth causing tooth wear if you need advice on this then there is a great website for further help seed eating disorders

so there are a few other reasons and also in most people we find that the tooth wear is due to a combination of factors so if your concerned about your teeth wearing away then give us a call on 01772 717316. Want to know more about why are my teeth short, contact us today!

I originally didn’t get my teeth straightened as I was concerned that I would have to wear an old fashioned “Train Track” style of brace which would be quite embarrassing particularly in my job which is customer facing.  I was also concerned about the cost but after my initial consultation I realised the cost of straight teeth was actually very reasonable and that times have certainly changed and there are different options available. I was amazed to find the treatment would only be for 6 months (which actually turned out to be less)
Now my teeth are straight I find I am smiling a lot more, in photos I am happy to give a big cheesy smile and I feel confident and happy with my overall appearance.
I was most pleased with the fact I could have a removable brace as it meant if I had a special event to attend I could remove the brace. Also the treatment time was very speedy as I certainly did not imagine my teeth would be straight in four months.
The Three benefits of the Inman Aligner would be the  treatment time was short,  getting appointments was easy, and the finished results, which has left me with a more confident smile.
I would recommend Lifestyle Dental because I have a hectic life as I work shifts and live half the time down south and half the time in the north of UK yet they managed to fit me in. The staff are professional and friendly and I have every confidence in their ability. Finally I was offered a great service at a reasonable price with a payment options and so they are definitely worthy of a glowing recommendation
I am getting married in October and will no longer worry about the photos. I would like to thank Nadim and the team because now I know I will have the biggest smile there!

thanks Clare and we wish you all the best for your wedding day

dental anxiety is a common concern for many people and if this is effecting you do not worry. There are many ways to reduce the effects and have treatment carried out in a relaxed and comfortable manner for example
1, sedation – there are different types of sedation available for dentistry now and they include intravenous sedation which invloves having a sedative in a vien which takes you to a potin where you are relaxed and comfortable to have teh treatment donethis is something provided at Lifetsyle dental
2, hypnosis – dental anxiety can be controlled by hypnosis and in most people just a 20 min session can help relax to carry out teh treatment
so if your intrested in these procedures then please let us know how we can help

MEET DR. NADIM MAJID & THE LIFESTYLE DENTAL TEAM

Dr. Nadim Majid qualified from Liverpool Dental school in 2001 and since then has worked in Lancashire for a number of years. He decided to undertake a career in dentistry as he found it was a good mix of science and art and also gave him the ability to help people and make a difference for them.

This really hit home when he worked in a nursing home for a short time and actually saw the impact upon the health and well being of patients whom had lost their teeth the impact was significant on the general health and well being and this is something Dr. Majid wanted to make sure he helped others avoid.

Dr. Majid is trained in hypnosis, sedation for nervous people, dental implants as well as braces. He lives in Lancashire with his two children (twins) and his wife who is a teacher. Dr. Majid has always and will continue to be focused on producing top quality services that his patients have come to expect and appreciate.
