Veneers – What can they do?

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Teeth by David Shankbone
Veneers make a huge change to a smile and even to a persons face. Have had a few people asking what is involved and how they work

veneers are a porcelain covering on the surface of a tooth. They can be used to change the dimension, and shape of a tooth and even change the colour of a tooth and if several are done they can change the smile completely

How long do they last – veneers can last up to 10-15 years and in some cases even longer dependant upon how well they are looked after and maintained.

How are they made and what is involved? – a initial visit to consult and assess the smile and give you the best options and design  the smile based on your preferences. Once this is completed then this can then be replicated in the mouth.

1, Can improve your confidence people who generally smile more are deemed more confident in meetings and social gatherings

so what to do if you dont have the right smile? -

well perhaps tooth whitening – to achieved a little brighter smile, or how about achieving straighter teeth with an invisible brace .

I found out about Lifestyle Dental through the Website and I came in because it was the closet clinic. I was unhappy with my teeth and I did not smile. When I did smile I didn’t show my teeth. I have had some veneers done and now when I smile I show all my teeth and am very happy.

My friends and family all like my new smile.

These treatments are combined and tailoured to give you your Lifestyle Dental Teeth whitening Solution.

The food and drink you consume stains your teeth, smoking also stains your teeth and makes the natural white shade of the teeth darker and they appear yellow. Whitening teeth is very simple and is a successful method of lightening the teeth, Giving you a brighter whiter smile  the whiteness will vary between each patient and how stained the teeth are to begin with, different processes’ of bleaching can also be used to increase the final result.

Lifestyle Teeth Whitening Solution is a combination of treatments, you will have an initial consultation and then be given a two week home treatment, once you have completed your home treatment you will need to visit the clinic for a one hour consultation with a dentist, enlighten teeth whitening works by increasing the tooth’s permeability to oxygen – this breaks down stain molecules.

Also offered at Lifestyle Dental, is a one-hour teeth whitening treatment, this is a powerful treatment and can lighten you teeth up to seven shades in just one hour. We are very careful with this procedure and your teeth and gums are covered whilst a special gel is applied to your teeth, the gel is then activated by a special light, causing the gel to penetrate your teeth that breaks up stains and discoloration.

The final option we offer for whitening is the at home treatment, we will take a mould of your teeth and create a custom-made mouth tray from this mould, we will then show you how to add the gel to the mouth tray which needs to be worn for a short time in the day or whilst you are asleep, the results from at home whitening are see after two weeks.

If you would like any further information regarding treatments that can be completed at lifestyle dental, please do not hesitate to contact the clinic or book a free of charge private consultation.

Dental Veneers

Monday, April 27th, 2009

The demand for the dental veneer has seen a steady increase recent years. A growing number of people have had this procedure done to improve their smile. To keep up with demand for veneers, more and more practices have begun extending this service to patients and we at lifestyle dental continue to do so . At lifestyle dental we also provide finance options to allow you to spread the investment in this type of cosmetic dentistry over a period of months or even years so you can get that simile and for a price you can afford.

Some of the questions we get asked about veneers

So what are veneers?

Dental veneers are a thin sheet of porcelain or a composite material fabricated to fit over a your existing teeth. The composite variation of dental veneers is often available more inexpensively since composite veneers can be made in the practice. Porcelain veneers are much more durable and thus have a greater lifespan.

SO how long do veneers last ?

Dental veneers are reported to last for ten years or more.

oral hygiene is an important factor in the longevity of the veneers.

What can veneers be used for ?

Veneers can be used for, tooth gaps, discoloration, and fractued teeth or chipped teeth can be quickly disguised with dental veneers.

Can anyone have veneers?

You may not need veneers to achieve that perfect smile. A thorough examination of your teeth before making any procedure is always required. there are alternative procedures which could achieve the same results and be far less destructive for example tooth whitening or cosmetic contouring or aligner

What happens after I have had veneers?

Once the veneer procedure is complete, it is your responsibility to maintain the new smile, together with advice from your dentist. This includes regular brushing and flossing. Regular dental appointments for checkups and cleanings also need to be maintained.

What are the benefits of veneers?

Veneers do have a number of favorable characteristics for example they are stain-resistant and they are virtually carefree if maintained well (see above)

What does the procedure involve ?

You would need attend a few dental visits before veneers can be fitted. a dental lab is usually involved where the veneers are fabricated.

if you are seeking veneers then please check out these additionl resources and then book in for a consultation 01772 717316
